Your First Visit

During your pet’s first visit, one of our experienced and gentle doctors will spend time getting to know your furry friend. Since this is our first look at your pet’s overall health, we will spend adequate time performing a comprehensive exam, checking everything from their nose to their tail. By checking your pet’s eyes, ears, nose, oral cavity, abdominal region, joints and muscles, our first-rate team will be able to identify potential areas of concern. At times, we may recommend additional diagnostic tests and blood work.

Feel free to ask us any questions you may have at your pet’s first visit. That’s what we are here for! We will also spend time talking to you about at-home care to keep your pet feeling their best in between visits.

There are a few ways you can help make your pet’s first visit go smoothly.

First, please bring any medical records with you. This is a huge help since your pet cannot verbalize how they are feeling! It may also benefit you financially by avoiding tests and vaccines that may have already been performed.

Secondly, our new client form – English or Formulario para nuevos clientes – Español is available online. This form makes checking in a breeze with the least amount of wait time! Once the form is completed at your convenience, please bring it with you to your pet’s first visit or send it to us via email at reception@hiramanimalhospital.com.
