Hiram Animal Hospital

Hospital Policies

Client experience is a staple of Hiram Animal Hospital. We take pride in our hospital and hope to make visits as pleasant as possible for you and your furry friends. Hospital policies effectively reduce wait times, allow doctors to spend adequate time with each patient and keeps our hospital running smoothly.

Appointment Policy

Scheduled appointments keep our hospital running smoothly.

We request that clients schedule visits for their pets ahead of time so waits can be prevented and kept to a minimum. This is also important for your pet's quality of care as it allows our doctors to spend ample time with you and your furry friend! Non-emergency walk-ins are accepted, but can expect a wait.

In the case of emergencies, we understand that scheduling an appointment is not always possible. If your pet needs urgent care, bring them to our facility as soon as possible and they will be treated as soon as they arrive.

For the safety of the patient in need of emergency care, these cases may delay normally scheduled appointments. We ask for your understanding.

Arrival Policy

Visits to the vet can be stressful, but they don't have to be! One way to reduce stress for everyone in our facility is by arriving with your pet properly restrained. We kindly ask that all dogs and cats are securely on a leash or in a pet carrier.

This will not only reduce stress and make everyone more comfortable, but also ensure the safety of all clients, pets, doctors and staff.

Rabies Vaccine

Rabies vaccines are mandatory to ensure the health and safety of everyone in our community. Keep in mind, this is not a one-time vaccination! For the protection of all people and animals, pets need to be vaccinated for the first time around 16 weeks of age with their last group of vaccinations, and subsequently every year after. Once your pet has been vaccinated, they will receive a rabies tag as proof.

Drop-Off Policy

We respect your busy schedule and want to make sure your pet always receives the veterinary care they need. That's why drop-off appointments are available!

If you need to drop off your pet, let us know in advance so we are prepared for your early arrival. Once your pet has been seen by one of our doctors, we will give you a call right away to follow-up on the visit and give important discharge instructions.

Important Drop-Off Times:

  • Pets can be dropped off as soon as we open at 7:00 AM.
  • If your pet is having surgery, they must be dropped off by 8:00 AM to allow enough time for pre-surgical care and to begin the procedure on time.

Payment Policy

All payments must be made at the time services are rendered. This allows us to continue serving you and your pets with leading veterinary care. To help you prepare for your pet's visit, we are always happy to provide estimates for any and all services. If you are interested in receiving an estimate, please call us.

We accept: cash, personal checks with proper identification, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Scratchpay and CareCredit®.

Pet Insurance

Pet care can simply be expensive, and accidents and illnesses happen without notice. To help you with the costs of your pet's veterinary services, we accept Pet Insurance.

If you have questions about your pet's Pet Insurance, or would like to learn more about Pet Insurance options, please do not hesitate to give us a call.
