David Carpenter

DVM & Co-Owner

Dr. David Carpenter, DVM, graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. Dr. Carpenter is dedicated to his clients and their pets, which is why he enjoys sharing client education and responsible pet ownership. He finds fulfillment in the genuine appreciation of his clients for the hard work of the doctors and staff at Hiram Animal Hospital. Dr. Carpenter loves all breeds, but has a special place in his heart for black Labradors. A true animal lover, he has two rescued Labrador mixes, 7 rescued cats, and two pet birds at home. In his spare time, Dr. Carpenter enjoys the great outdoors, skiing, and being with his family.

Wendy Meeker

DVM

Dr. Wendy Meeker earned her DVM from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. She earned her undergraduate degree from Purdue University. Dr. Meeker has practiced high-quality veterinary medicine for the last 21 years, and has enjoyed her time caring for the pets at Hiram Animal Hospital for the last sixteen years.

Lars Cook

DVM

Dr. Lars Cook earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Saint George's University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 after obtaining his degree in Animal Science from the University of Georgia. Dr. Cook also served a year of clinical study at the University of Missouri. His veterinary-care interests include orthopedics, preventative care, and a passion to educate clients about their pets’ health.

Dr. Cook grew up in Cobb County and currently resides in Cartersville with his wife and daughter. He has a golden retriever, a bulldog mix, and a pair of black cats helping contribute to a happily chaotic home life. He enjoys traveling, cooking, and playing board games with his family.

Kyle Thornton

DVM

Dr. Kyle Thornton was born and raised in the Classic City of Athens, Georgia. He graduated from the Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014 and after obtaining his degree, took his talents to the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas, Nevada. We would tell you more about his time there, but what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Over the past 10 years, Dr. Thornton has developed a passion in the veterinary field for preventive medicine, surgery, grooming, mobile medicine, and reproduction services. Dr. Thornton loves all breeds and sizes, but he especially has a love for English Bulldogs (Go Dawgs) and cats. At home, he has three English Bulldogs, a chihuahua, two cats, and no kids, but his fur children keep him busy enough!

In his free time, Dr. Thornton loves to cook, especially grilling when the weather is nice. He also enjoys outdoor activities including camping and fishing, and spending time making new memories with family and close friends. Dr. Thornton is an extreme University of Georgia football fan and spends most of his Saturdays in the fall watching his Dawgs.
